The diving board ran its way through five courses, two periods, one infection and the wrinkle in his back. Flattening with a deserts backhand, nothing survived its one on one match.Sticks striking out, its bend screamed DEMOCRACY BEGINS BETWEEN TWO. She looked the other way- calm calculating and with a Good Deal of honesty, she stated that that was exactly (NOT) why she let her armpits grow – that her inner voice and this bump in cloth were in agreement. That a teenagers’ remorse came post-impulse-to-revolt. That the occupy movement was missing NO Point. That if LA had been nicer a carving wouldn’t have to be made (Walking is the most vulnerable sport here). The swan dove. Sorry is another dimension.

WHERE THE SKIN GETS PINCHED
Cara Benedetto & Davida Nemeroff
February 25 - March 24 2012

Opening Reception
Saturday February 25
6-9pm

Young Art is pleased to present Where The Skin Gets Pinched, a collaborative installation by Cara Benedetto and Davida Nemeroff. The opening reception will be held Saturday, February 25th from 6 to 9pm and the exhibition will remain on view through March 24, 2012.

Where The Skin Gets Pinched is the physical manifestation of an ongoing conversation between the two artists and their practices. Benedetto and Nemeroff have used the gallery space as a playing field bringing together elements of photography, found imagery, and deconstructed language to create a game of tension and humor. Utilizing craft supplies and do-it-yourself printing methods, the artists have embraced raw production and presentation strategies as an alternative to conventional tactics. Where The Skin Gets Pinched will be the first time either artist has exhibited with Young Art.

Her work has also been exhibited in group shows at the Berkeley Art Museum, Berkley,CA; the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, PA; Night Gallery, Los Angeles, CA and Gavin Brown’s Enterprise, New York, NY. Benedetto lives and works in New York.

Her work has also been featured in numerous group shows. Nemeroff lives and works in Los Angeles where she co-runs Night Gallery.
